India loses a colossal figure of over Rs 2 lac crores every year due to the menace of corrosion. These expenses can be brought down to half if the good practices are followed to prevent and control corrosion. This offers a big opportunity to save cost and also enhance the life of products, plant & machinery, and civil structures.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) established a Corrosion Management Committee (CMC), which works to continuously create awareness and consciousness about the issue of corrosion in India, and promotes corrosion prevention strategies among industries and particularly SMEs.
