  1. Manickam Valliappan • Green corrosion inhibitor development using aqueous extracts of coffee grounds for Carbon Steel in HCl.

I have come across some studies on using plant extracts for corrosion inhibition.

Natural Product Extract as Eco-friendly Corrosion Inhibitor for Commercial Mild Steel in 1M HCI-Part II, J. Ind. Council Chem. Vol. 26, No. 2, 2009, pp. 153-157. This study has been conducted by the Chemistry faculties of Bishop Heper College and National Institute of Technology in Trichy, India.

The extract from the plant Hybiseus Syriacus Linn and rutin are used to study the corrosion inhibition on mild steel in 1M HCI. The mother India is blessed with many a number of natural products that are used by our ancesters as healing plants.

Tobacco extract for corrosion inhibition of Steel and Aluminum in Saline environment.

Tobacco Plant Extracts as Environmentally Benign Corrosion Inhibitors, GUY D. DAVIS, DACCO SCI, Inc. and J. ANTHONY VON FRAUNHOFER, Inhibitrol, Inc, Materials Performance, Feb 2003, PP55-60.
